Tree Free Paper Blog News: According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the world population is expanding at a mind-boggling rate. The world reached 1 billion people in 1800; 2 billion by 1922; and over 6 billion by 2000.
As the population grows, the need for housing timber, consumables like food and paper, and the need for energy expands. Although the paper need should diminish as the electronic age blooms, we have only seen an increase in paper demand. This is also in direct contrast to the need for food and energy. Forests are cleared to make timber for housing, paper for human consumption, and also to plant food crops. Trees are used for energy too. However, oil, gas and coal will supply our needs for a little while longer…but, how much longer? And, where will government and corporate interests look next to fulfill their energy needs?
Make no mistake about it, like so many other natural resources, the trees are in danger and disappearing at an alarming rate.
